God Knows About Your Anxiety
Anxiety is not a modern invention. The Bible is filled with people who struggled with intense fear, dread, and worry. The Psalms especially give voice to the anxious heart — raw and honest, crying out to God from the depths.
1 Peter 5:7 says to "cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." Not some of it. All of it. God is not overwhelmed by your worry. He invites you to bring every bit of it to Him.
Scriptures for Anxious Moments
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
— 1 Peter 5:7"When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy."
— Psalm 94:19"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
— Psalm 34:18"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you."
— Isaiah 26:3"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled."
— John 14:27Faith and Mental Health
If you struggle with anxiety, faith and professional help are not opposites — they work together. Prayer and Scripture are powerful tools. So is therapy, medication when needed, and a supportive community. God works through all of these.
You don't have to choose between faith and getting help. Reaching out — to God, to a counselor, to a trusted friend — is a courageous act of wisdom.
