God Honors Grief
Jesus wept at the tomb of Lazarus — even though He knew what was about to happen. That moment tells us something profound: grief is not a lack of faith. It is a natural, God-honored response to loss. God does not rush us through it.
The shortest verse in the Bible — "Jesus wept" (John 11:35) — is also one of the most comforting. The Son of God stood at a graveside and cried. He understands your grief from the inside.
Scriptures for Grief
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
— Psalm 34:18"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain."
— Revelation 21:4"Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning."
— Psalm 30:5"Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering."
— Isaiah 53:4"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him."
— Romans 8:28There Is No Timeline for Grief
Grief does not follow a schedule. There is no right way to grieve and no deadline to be "over it." What matters is that you don't grieve alone. Community, honest prayer, and time are all part of the journey through grief — not around it.
