Where Strength Comes From

We live in a culture that celebrates self-sufficiency. But the Bible consistently presents a different model: our greatest strength is not found in ourselves but in our connection to God. The apostle Paul writes from prison, of all places, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" — not from comfort or ease, but from deep communion with God.

"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak."— Isaiah 40:29

Scriptures on Strength

"I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

— Philippians 4:13

"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me."

— Psalm 28:7

"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

— Psalm 73:26

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

— Joshua 1:9

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength."

— Isaiah 40:31

When You Feel Weak

Paul also writes something surprising: "When I am weak, then I am strong" (2 Corinthians 12:10). Weakness is not a spiritual failure — it is often the doorway to experiencing God's strength most directly. The moments when we have nothing left are often the moments God shows up most powerfully.

If you're exhausted, depleted, or running on empty — that's not the end of the story. It may be the beginning of something new.
